Just returned from Burleson, Tx. from the AAU regional qualifier. Two Metro athletes will advance to the AAU Olympic Games. This runner standing beside me is 12 yr old Jenaia Williams from Whitehouse. She won the 400m with a time of 59.2. Yes I said it 59.2.. Thats a high school district time. Awsome isn’t it? I fear for athletes like this. They start school track, roll through high school and get no faster. We find them, tune em, train em, Not All, but some of the School coaches treat us like the plague. We don’t want their glory or the check. Our passion is for the sport and our hearts goes out to the kids that could possibly receive a scholarship. We walk em into colleges every year. It’s no secret. Many of our athletes suffer from our high school track and football programs. Science have proven the technics to create speed and these programs stunt the kid progress for speed. Why don’t they ask for help? Do you have the answer? Who wouldnt want the combination to win? Its not hard to win around here but you have to face the South Dallas kids at regionals. “Thtats where the high congregation of speedsters are congregated” say Mile Split Sports analyst. All we can do is help who we can
